SABIF

SABIF is affiliated to the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF), a membership organisation and charity which aims to promote the understanding of all aspects of acquired brain injury, and to improve awareness of ABI through education and information

Amongst other things UKABIF provides the secretariat for the all Party Parliamentary Group for Acquired brain injury and helped develop a report to drive change and improve services for brain injury survivors nationally. Through UKABIF we are linked to a network of over 20 other regional ABIFS which operate throughout the UK.

SABIF's History

SABIF is proud that it was the first regional acquired brain injury forum in the country and its success generated considerable interest which resulted in the establishment of at least a further 20 regional "ABIFs" which are currently operating throughout the UK including in Wales and Scotland.

SABIF started in 2002 when a number of professional ,working locally in the field of brain injury within in Sussex, saw the huge benefits of regular networking and combining their expertise to promote awareness of ABI and lobbying to improve services locally. Since then SABIF has provided regular talks on a variety of topics, training for local professionals, lobbied local MPs and developed a comprehensive database of services available for people in Sussex.

Claire Glasgow
Claire GlasgowFieldfisher Solicitor/Director
I am a solicitor and a director at the law firm Fieldfisher, specialising in high-value catastrophic injury claims and high-profile sexual assault cases. I only ever act for the injured party and my clients are at the heart of the work I do. They are usually at one of the lowest points of their lives at the outset of their claim and I am passionate about achieving the best possible outcome for them, in particular ensuring they receive financial support and timely rehabilitation funded by the defendant insurer.

I have a particular interest in working with victims of traumatic brain injury and outside of work I volunteer with the charity Headway Sussex as a trustee. My clients have usually been injured as a result of road traffic accidents, violent assault, or accidents at work. I joined the SABIF steering committee in 2024.
