PROMOTING AWARENESS

in Sussex

Welcome to Sussex Acquired Brain Injury Forum – SABIF

Aspiring to help make acquired brain injury more understandable.

Brain injuries can change lives in an instant. We're here to help. At SABIF we provide resources and advice to those affected by brain injury.

SABIF comprises of people based in Sussex (East and West) who are interested, for a variety of reasons, in brain injury and helping local people who have suffered brain injury. Members come from a wide background and consist of a spread of professionals (medical, legal, voluntary sector, local authorities) together with survivors and carers.

We see the huge benefits of combining our knowledge and expertise by working together to promote better awareness, improve our knowledge and to lobby to improve local brain injury services for people in Sussex. We enjoy networking and getting to know others who share a common interest in brain injury.

We have regular meetings (mainly by video conference) where frequently there are talks on topical and other subjects of interest given by outside speakers.

New members, are always very welcome and membership is free.

1.3 million Brits are living with the effects of a long-term brain injury¹

Worldwide, an estimated 69 million people experience a traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year². Brain injury may limit, but it doesn't define. SABIF empowers survivors to rebuild their lives by signposting them towards their preferred support gateways.
